Father Leonid Goferman has spent a great deal of time building our mission a new altar table by hand (picture below). Father Leonid carefully followed all the guidelines for creating an altar that will be blessed, so that it may be at the center of our worship for generations to come. He completed the altar table and delivered it to St. Alexander Nevsky Church (from New Jersey) last week. We fully expected to pay Fr. Leonid for his prayerful labors to create this beautiful altar table, but he announced to Father Chad last Sunday that the altar table is a gift to our mission! Please keep Fr. Leonid in your prayers! Father Chad moved the altar table from Richmond to Bucksport on top of his Toyota. So now we are able to worship with this beautiful altar table. Thanks be to God

On July 31st at 7:00PM St. Innocent of Alaska Mission will sponsor the screening of the film "Sacred Alaska" at the Alamo Theater in Bucksport, Maine.
From the website:
"Sacred Alaska" is an award-winning documentary that offers an intimate look into Native Alaskan culture and spirituality. It showcases the profound influence of Orthodoxy, introduced by Russian monks in the late 18th century, on Alaskan society. The film highlights the unique way Alaskans have woven their indigenous beliefs with Orthodox traditions, deeply influencing their worldview. Central to this is the concept of learning to become a "real person." Through beautiful cinematography and powerful storytelling, "Sacred Alaska" underscores the profound, sacred bond between the Alaskan people, their faith, and the formidable landscape they call home.
